Recently, ShanghaiTech University held a meeting to announce leadership changes. With the approval of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Jiang Mianheng has been appointed as the Chair of the University Governing Board, and Feng Donglai has been appointed as the President of ShanghaiTech University.
The decisions were announced by Wang Ping, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. The meeting was attended by Vice Mayor Xie Dong, who delivered a speech. Also present were Cao Yuanfeng, Executive Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee; Zhou Yaming, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Working Committee of Education and Health, Director of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. The meeting was presided over by Shen Wei, Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Working Committee of Education and Health. Speeches were delivered by the newly appointed President Feng Donglai, Party Secretary Li Ruxin, and University Governing Board Chair Jiang Mianheng.
Attendees at the meeting also included heads of the Organization Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, the CPC Shanghai Municipal Working Committee of Education and Health, and the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, as well as members of ShanghaiTech’s leadership team, the party committee and the committee for discipline inspection, together with heads of schools, institutes, centers and administrative offices, and also party branch secretaries.
