The meeting took place in a relaxed atmosphere with coffee and sweets. The ShanghaiTech leadership acknowledged and thanked all international faculty for their contributions, and offered answers and feedbacks to problems in their daily life and work. The international faculty also showed a strong sense of identity as ShanghaiTech members. They cared deeply about the ShanghaiTech’s long-term development and made valuable suggestions, such as admission, teaching and research, based on their own study and work experience.

In response to the bilingual communication issues raised by foreign faculty at the coffee meeting, on December 14, a special info session on bilingual communication was organized by OIA for all schools/institutes/centers and administrative offices, offering detailed suggestions and references such as the Chinese-English Glossary, etc. More efforts will be made to improve the work and life environment for international faculty in the future.
