The biomedical field has embraced the medical digital twin (DT) as a transformative goal, aimed at modeling individual patient health, forecasting disease trajectories, and guiding personalized interventions in real time. While the creation of a multi-organ, d multi-omics MDT remains Dr. Wen's long-term aspiration and is still in its very early stages, Dr. Wen's current research focuses on developing and applying artificial intelligence and machine learning (AIML) methods to analyze multi-organ, multi-omics biomedical data for the study of human aging and disease. This talk encompasses 3 intertwined yet progressive perspectives and 2 key elements of a MDT (data connection and patient-in-silicon): i) scrutinizing the reproducibility of AIML in neuroimaging research; ii) depicting the neuroanatomical heterogeneity of brain disorders using AIML and imaging; and iii) embracing multi-scale (organs and omics) approaches to investigate human aging and disease beyond the brain.
