Sri Narasimhan trained in microbiology and molecular genetics at the National University of Singapore, University of Massachusetts Medical School and Harvard Medical School. She joined Cell Press as an assistant editor at Cell in 2012 and, ever since, has been mesmerized by the daily opportunities to learn across scientific disciplines. Sri leads the journal's strategy and cross-journal communication with other Cell Press journals and has led Cell's microbiology, immunology, and metabolism topic spaces strategically and in publications. She is also responsible for leading Cell's Leading Edge section, that is focused on reviews, perspectives and other frontmatter. While connected to her South Indian roots, exposure to different countries, languages, and cultures has shaped her passion for diversity and gender equity in science and consequently Sri has led her team in efforts to diversify their reviewer and author engagement. Sri loves interacting with the broader community, especially early-career researchers and trainees, and believes it is never too early to talk about science or ideas.
