Abstract:
With the acceleration of people's life pace and the changes in environmental factors, the population with chronic diseases and sub-health problems are gradually increasing worldwide. However, most of the individuals are currently confronted with enormous difficulties in accessing hospitals due to cumbersome diagnostic procedures, untimely appointment and expensive medical treatment, which to a large extent hinder the personal health management, especially in developing countries and remote areas. Thus, it is critical to develop various medical sensors and systems based on the Internet of Things, whose combination can be termed as Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), to realize remote health management. IoMT is aimed to improve medical safety and quality through the integration of medical objects and medical processes with interoperability technologies. It not only breaks the limitations of the fixed networking mode in hospitals and the independent information management system of each department, but also realizes simple operation and humanized interaction for patients and medical staff for better proactive health management of individuals. This talk will introduce the fusion application of medical sensors and Internet of medical things. Our researches are dedicated to develop portable and sensitive IoMT-enabled biosensors to respond the challenges in remote point-of-care testing.  We also focus on the architecture of IoMT for the purpose of generating a smart platform for proactive health management.
