On January 8, 2021, Mr. Vincent Hieff, Consul General of Luxembourg in Shanghai, and Ms. Ma Ying, Senior officer Financial Sector, visited ShanghaiTech University. Jiang Ge, Vice President and Executive Director of SIAIS, welcomed them together with representatives from the Office of International Affairs.
Jiang Ge extended a warm welcome to Mr. Hieff and Ms. Ma, and introduced the history of ShanghaiTech University and perspectives for international cooperation. They also discussed potential cooperation between ShanghaiTech University and the University of Luxembourg in biomedicine research, and agreed to actively explore the possibility of cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship.
After the meeting, Mr. Hieff and Ms. Ma visited the School of Information Science and Technology (SIST) and the School of Creativity and Art (SCA). Sören Schwertfeger, an assistant professor of SIST, took the guests on a tour of his and Prof. Laurent Kneip’s laboratories, and also the Visual and Data Intelligence Center (VDI Center). Following that, Mr. Hieff and Ms. Ma visited four laboratories including the Multi-disciplinary Artificial Reality Studio (MARS) of SIST, and the Center for Adaptive System Engineering (CASE), the Design Interaction Visual (DIV) Lab and the Artificial Intelligence and Digital Art (AIDA) Lab of SCA, as well as the SCA Gallery. Finally, they enjoyed the opportunity for an in-depth exchange of ideas with Prof. Wang Shouzhi, the Vice Dean of SCA, on the cultivation of ShanghaiTech students, including cooperation and exchanges in the fields of creativity and arts.
