Recently, a delegation led by US Senator Steve Daines visited ShanghaiTech University, where they met with President Feng Donglai and toured the Shanghai HIgh repetitioN rate XFEL and Extreme light facility (SHINE) and the Multidisciplinary Artificial Reality Studio (MARS).
The delegation also included US Senators Deb Fischer, Maria Cantwell and Mike Lee and was accompanied by US Consul General Scott Walker. Representatives from the National People’s Congress and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress accompanied the visit. University leadership including Yin Jie, Yu Jingyi, and Liu Zhi, along with faculty and student representatives, participated in the meeting.
