Assistant Professor Cheng Wang’s research group is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in the area of semiconductor optoelectronics. The project aims to develop advanced III-V semiconductor laser sources based on nanostructures for applications in high speed fiber-optic communication systems and in broadband radio-over-fiber networks. The candidate will take part in both theoretical and experimental investigations of novel semiconductor laser devices’ modulation dynamics and nonlinear dynamics, as well as developing techniques for enhancing the lasers’ dynamic performances. He/she will be also involved in collaborations with international partners from France, Canada, and the US. The position is available immediately for one year, with another one year possible extension. More information about Dr. Cheng Wang can refer to the following website:
A minimum academic qualification is PhD degree in electrical and electronic engineering, physics, or relevant discipline. Applicants with knowledge of laser physics or optical communications are desirable. Previous experiences in simulation and characterization of semiconductor optoelectronic devices, such as laser diodes, LEDs, amplifiers, and photodiodes would be a plus.
Qualified applicants are invited to submit a resume and a publication list to email@example.com, cc to Dr. Cheng Wang (email: firstname.lastname@example.org). Further information will be required if the candidate qualifies. We provide very competitive salary and benefits for this position.
