ShanghaiTech University is actively seeking collaboration with overseas universities and industrial partners sharing similar vision and values. As the university develops, the campus is thriving with international academic activities and events, making ShanghaiTech an ever-growing global community. In 2016, 85 students participated in summer programs their summer programs at University of California-Berkeley, University of Chicago and Padova University. ShanghaiTech also welcomed students from University of Chicago and Massachusetts Institute of Technology to do summer research or workshops. The 3+1 Study Abroad Program provides students with opportunities to study for up to one academic year in partner universities. In 2016, 3 students participated in the program with MIT and in 2017 another 3 students will spend one semester at Harvard University.
