The 8th iHuman Forum held in October

The event lasted for three days. iHuman hosted its 8th iHuman Forum from October 18 to 20 in the Conference Center. The Forum aims to be a platform for researchers to present and exchange their latest advances in the fields of structural biology, chemical biology, computational biology, medicinal chemistry and cryo-electron tomography.


The opening of the forum was presided over by Raymond Stevens, Founding Director of iHuman, and Liu Zhi-Jie, Executive Director of iHuman. Yin Jie, Executive Vice President and Provost of ShanghaiTech, delivered the opening speech and extended a warm welcome to the participants. After the speech, he described the development of ShanghaiTech over the past ten years and expressed his appreciation for the fruitful achievements that iHuman has made. He also expressed his expectation to all participants that they could gain inspiration from the forum.

This year’s forum focused on the structure and function of GPCR, artificial intelligence and drug discovery, and cell in-situ structural biology. It attracted many researchers from worldwide research institutes and universities who gave keynote speeches. These institutions included Max Planck Institute, EMBL, University of Zurich, Utrecht University, University of Southern California, University of California San Francisco, Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Shandong University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Zhejiang University. Invited guests and participants also exhibited their posters and exchanged academic ideas.

The significant support for this forum from the university and collaborating institutions of iHuman, as well as the active participation of iHuman faculty and students, led to the successful hosting of the forum, enabling researchers to discuss and communicate. iHuman Institute will strive to improve the excellence of the forum, further expanding its influence and high quality content, forging it as a prestigious annual academic conference in its field.
