ShanghaiTech Delegation Tours Japan

A ShanghaiTech delegation recently headed by President Jiang Mianheng traveled to Japan to visit companies and institutions, including Keio University, The University of Tokyo, Tokyo Women’s Medical University, Institute of Advanced Biomedical Engineering and Science jointly founded by Tokyo Women’s Medical University and Waseda University, Kyushu University, Osaka University, Kyoto University, and Toyota Central R&D Labs and Panasonic, and exchanged ideas with the Chairman of The New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).

ShanghaiTech intends to establish the ties with Japanese top universities and institutions in student exchange and joint research. The delegation also hoped to learn from Japanese counterparts’ experience in hydrogen energy research and application and the operation of university medical school and affiliated hospitals. ShanghaiTech SIAIS Professor Katsuhiko Mikoshiba and Vice President of Shanghai Advanced Research Institute Dr. Huang Weiguang attended the meetings. 

President Jiang also visited with two ShanghaiTech Class of 2019 graduates who are now at Kyoto University for further study.
